Five of us went to Aberfeldy on Tuesday, a clear and cold night, Drew’s BMW registered only 1 degree over the hill at the Griffin wind farm! The rest of us had taken the bottom roads through Dalguise and Grandtully but the chipper provided good grub even if we had to eat it in the rain outside. Tough guys or what….even missed deer on the road (twice), kamikaze pheasants (often) but we couldn’t miss all the potholes.
It’s official – our new Chairman is Charlie. He was unanimously voted in at the AGM after George resigned for personal reasons. So it’s time to get together our ideas for this year’s runs and stuff so pass any to me or Charlie and we can make them happen.
Good run to Tomintoul and beyond yesterday, 7 of us met at 10am in the Wellmeadow. Two other groups of bikers did the same so it looked for a while like we had 20 turned up!
Club nights are every Tuesday now at no31, and the first Chippy Run will be Tues 25th April.
Yes it’s nearly time for our AGM, this year it will be at No31 on Tuesday 4th April at 8.30. Come along and have your say about what you want for the coming year, runs, events, whatever. And who you want to run the Club as we’ll have to decide the office bearers and committee for 2017. Our first big event will be the Maggie’s Run on Sunday 14th May, check the What’s On page for details, but we will have a chippy run before that – date to be set at the AGM.
Hope to see you there
See our Facebook page for some pics from the BADMCC burns night. Everyone had good munch of tatties neeps and haggis. The variety of music and talent of the musicians was excellent and they all gave their time free to help us raise funds for charity . Great address to the Haggis by Charlie and thanks to the Peter the piper for bringing the whole feel of Scottishness to the event. Anyone with pics please post on Facebook or send to me. It was good to see old friends and hope we can all work together to plan our next one. Get together soon ????
Yes it’s almost here again folks – once Christmas and Hogmanay are over you can get fired up and come along to No31 on Saturday 21st January for our Burns celebration. We’ve got the same musicians as last year too so it’ll be a good session.
Pass the word to everyone please and here’s the poster .
Have a good Christmas and New Year and all the best for 2017
Here’s the letter we’ve sent to all sponsors for the 2016 Maggie’s Run badmcc-thank-you-letter-2016
Next year’s Run, the 12th, will be on May 14th 2017 so remember!
Big thanks to everyone that attended and donated a prize to the 70/80s night on Saturday night at number 31 Wellmeadow Blairgowrie. We raised £161 on the raffle and some big donations went into the Maggie centre collection tin. The number 31 management and staff were stars and we will get the raffle money across to Susan for a handover to Maggies with our best wishes. Hope you all had a good night and George managed to play a tune that you enjoyed from your youth.
Remember our Christmas meal is on 9th Dec – get in touch if you want to come and haven’t told me already
Well dark nights will soon be with us and as usual we’re meeting every two weeks or so from the end of October, now on the FIRST and THIRD Tuesday of the month through to the end of March.
Join us on (almost) St Andrews day, Saturday 26th November at No.31 Wellmeadow Blairgowrie.
Night of 70/80’s music with George Muir as your DJ. So you know it’s going to be good…
Drop in before 7 & Grab a meal at the bar.
We will kick off around 7-30 with the music. “Tunes from his college days”.
Open door so everyone’s welcome.
We just want to see everyone enjoy a night out.
And for those more local, you can just stroll home singing to the old favourites still playing in your head.
We also have George Forrest’s Chairman’s Quiz night on Tuesday the 15th November when George will test our knowledge of nearly everything and may give away some answers as questions like last time eh George? 8.30 start at No 31 and there will be prizes.
ALSO for your info but not a club event – The Alyth Pipe Band are holding a Ceilidh Dance on Saturday 29th OCTOBER in Alyth, 7.30 start. £8 for adults and a fiver for kids, includes a plate of soup or stovies too. Bring your own drink as none will be on sale in the hall.
AND remember our Christmas Club meal on Fri 9th DEC at the Dalmore Inn Blairgowrie, 7.30. I have about a dozen folk hoping to make it so far but plenty room for more.
Watch out for crud and leaves if you’re out on the bike now and probably salt on the hill roads… YUK
and some pics from our recent Ullapool trip
The current plan is to leave on Friday 16th Sept, stay Fri night in Ullapool, then on Saturday have a run to Thurso via Durness, and back a different way, and have a meal and a few beers back in Ullapool on the Saturday night, home Sunday 18th. The campsite is still open in Ullapool for anyone interested in that. Otherwise book your own accomodation or get in touch as I’ll be looking for B&B too. Expect to pay around £40 a night incl breakfast. And petrol money for a 600/700mile weekend! And we want sunshine – please pray or whatever you do……but the midgies won’t be too bad now ha ha
